Roles and Responsibilities

Compliance with the Code is mandatory for all volunteers at all times

In situations not covered by the Code, volunteers should exercise good judgment and seek guidance if needed.

The Code prohibits actions that prioritize personal or business gains over ethical conduct or compliance with the law.

Volunteers are expected to treat clients, staff, and fellow volunteers with courtesy, respect, and dignity.

Open and clear communication with staff and fellow volunteers is encouraged.

Professional behaviour is required during volunteer shifts, including avoiding discriminatory or offensive language.

Reporting time of the Volunteers will be as decided by their superiors.

Food Safety and Handling Procedures

Volunteers must wash their hands thoroughly before and after specific activities, including arriving at the distribution site, handling food, or using the restroom.

Jewelry should be removed before handling food.

Volunteers experiencing symptoms of illness should inform the Organisation and stay home to prevent the spread of germs.

Hair should be restrained with a hairnet or suitable covering.

Disposable gloves must be worn when handling food.

Clean, comfortable clothing should be worn, avoiding loose items or accessories that could contaminate food.

Volunteers should report any observed food safety concerns, such as improper storage temperatures or damaged packaging, to a supervisor immediately.

Zero Tolerance for Sexual Harassment at the Workplace

The Organisation maintains a zero-tolerance policy for all forms of harassment, including sexual, physical, verbal, or psychological, in the workplace.

Bribery and Corruption

Volunteers are prohibited from giving or accepting bribes related to the Organisation or its work.

Engaging in corrupt acts or practices is strictly forbidden for all volunteers.

Miscellaneous

Any photographs or videos taken by/of the volunteers while distribution/preparation of food can be used by the Organisation for promotional purposes. Copyright on such photographs and videos vests with the Organisation.

Volunteers are prohibited from using any mark or logo pertaining to the Organisation for personal use without prior consent.

Any information pertaining to the Organisation and its work disclosed is confidential in nature and no volunteer shall share the same with anyone outside the Organisation.

Any issues or concerns should be escalated through the appropriate reporting channels promptly.

No waiver of the provisions of the Code will be valid unless specifically mentioned/informed about the same.

Amendments made, if any, will be informed to the volunteers at the earliest.
