Covid times required Society to go beyond the call of being self centred and to reach out to ones struggling to even eke out a life.
In many ways it was a turning point for individuals in society..
Atria foundation got its legs during this time.
It started as a activity to reach out to as many as possible in Bangalore.
What started off as a 5000 Meal delivery every single day scaled itself to 1,50,000 meals a day prepared in 20 kitchens around the city of Bangalore.
It was an eye-opener to see that when there is a good cause citizens flock to it.
20 kitchens with over 350 volunteers preparing and packing food every single day of the Covid was no simple task.
It was made to look easy because of the full hearted Support that Bangaloreans gave.
Specific mention should be made of Shankar a Supreme Court advocate by profession but importantly a friend and philosopher that guides the Atria Family.
He along with Kaushik Raju made it their life’s mission to reach out to as many challenged in the city of Bangalore during Covid.
Volunteers who gave food materials, transportation, people that even cooked at homes in addition to the 20 kitchens added heft to the process.
Eventually over 71,00,00 meals were served to ones that were fighting the battle of survival during those tough times.
The scale of that effort still rings many bells in how humanity comes together when times truly demand.
